Contract Value and Performance

GSA hires leading architects and engineers to construct energy-efficient, innovative facilities at good value to the American taxpayer. Using the Project Information Portal (PIP), GSA managers are able to track their projects starting with the formative stages, through the design and construction stages, until completion.

The PIP enables managers to chart planned value, earned value, approved baselines, and contingencies. This data is then used to deliver stoplight level reporting of the on schedule and on budget status of over a billion dollars of construction contracts annually. The status of the overall program is visible by project type, program area and region and from there the system allows for a drill down to the individual contract and payment level of detail.

This key information is used by GSA management to report to OMB and to give out performance awards to project personnel.

Testimonials:

“...the PIP offers a graphically pleasing, highly intuitive user interface and easy-to-understand and easy-to-navigate architecture information... The GSA expects to save almost $2.4 million annually or about $12 million over a five-year period...[using PIP] by decreasing the time that project managers must spend to meet project reporting requirements.”
