Job Description:

JPI has an opening for a Senior Analyst with two to four years of management consulting experience, including one to three years direct business analyst experience. This role will involve support of critical business improvement and transformation initiatives related to performance management and IT service improvement; experience with requirements and defining business processes and needs is particularly valuable. 


  • Developing and maturing metrics capabilities for business performance management, including (but not limited to) requirements gathering, automating data extraction and compilation, effectively displaying visual information, and alignment with organizational strategic initiatives
  • Supporting continual process / service improvement initiatives (CPI/CSI), including problem identification and definition, process mapping and analysis, analysis of solution alternatives, process reengineering / future-state process implementation, development of control / contingency plans, supporting CPI training, and facilitating CPI events and projects
  • Supporting metrics implementation efforts and development of corresponding project management artifacts
  • Retrieving data from various US Government databases and assembling / conditioning datasets for analysis using Microsoft Excel, Minitab Statistical Software, and other software suites as needed
  • Providing meeting support services, including planning, coordination, scheduling, agendas, minutes, facilitation, presentation, and follow-up activities
  • Identifying strategies for automating and implementing efficient work management processes
  • Creating project status briefings and reports, metrics plans, process guides, performance reports, and related artifacts
  • Developing project artifacts including charters, agendas, minutes, and correspondence
  • Communicating process solutions to clients
  • Map and document complex business processes, and communicate processes solutions to the client
  • Support development of Process Guides in accordance with existing client policies and processes
  • Additional activities include participating in program management working sessions and supporting program managers in executing day-to-day project management activities


  • Bachelor's degree in business, industrial engineering, or a related field is required. MBA or advanced degree is a plus
  • Familiarity with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). Understanding project management methodologies (processes, best practices, tools, and templates). Project management experience desired (CAPM or PMP preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black / Green / Yellow Belt training desired
  • Must have strong organizational and scheduling skills, with particular attention to detail
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio
  • Significant proficiency in Microsoft Excel formula writing (creating macros and/or VBA code is a plus) is desired
  • Solution-oriented thinking and discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively, both independently and in team settings, to include close collaboration with program managers
  • Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Experience in building and managing client relationships
  • Hands-on experience supporting large, complex programs and program management offices
  • Clearance: Eligibility for DoD Secret or above
