Job description

JPI is seeking an Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Business Consultant with five to seven years of experience in ITSM consultation and process development, re-engineering, and management. This position will work directly with the US Coast Guard (USCG) Chief Information Officer-affiliated organizations to support and assist in government ITSM practices, software suite administration, process development / re-engineering, and change management-related issues to support the USCG mission and ensure programs are delivered on time and within budget.​

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support IT Service Management software suites, including Change Management, configuration controls, workflow optimization, requirements gathering, and service request management
  • Develop and maintain project plans and integrated master schedules
  • Draft project status briefings and reports
  • Create and maintain project artifacts, including requirements, service criteria, process guides, desk guides, agendas, minutes, and correspondence
  • Use enterprise project management information systems to support ongoing project management efforts                                                             
  • Identify strategies for automating and implementing efficient work management processes              
  • Map business processes and communicate solutions to clients
  • Participate in program management working sessions and supporting program managers in executing day-to-day project management activities
  • Lead, facilitate, and attend client meetings and exercises
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and provide recommendations for IT Service Management improvements ​

Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Service Management or a related field required
  • ITIL® Foundations certification strongly preferred -- ITIL Expert preferred
  • PBA (Professional Business Analyst) strongly preferred
  • Management and business strategy consulting experience desired
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in IT Service Management support
  • Experience with DoD Enterprise Service Management Framework (DESMF) desired
  • Knowledge of ITSM software suites / tools
  • Strong understanding of end-user and technician experience within ITSM software consoles
  • Strong language skills, including translating technical requirements to/from user-friendly language
  • Good organizational / multitasking skills
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred
  • Understanding of developing project management methodologies (processes, best practices, tools, and templates)               
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills                             
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings to include close collaboration with program managers
  • Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven process
  • Experience in building and managing client relationships
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • US Coast Guard experience desired
  • Clearance: Clearable to DoD Secret or above ​
