Information Technology Project Manager

Job Description:

JPI has an opening for a Consultant role to serve as a Project Manager with the General Services Administration (GSA). Seven to 10 years of consulting experience focused on acquisition support, employing Agile methodologies, contract management, federal policy, project management, technical writing, vendor management, and working with Federal clients on a day-to-day basis. This position will be working with team of developers and analysts to manage and support a diverse set of information technology (IT) related projects.


Project Management (100%)

  • Lead project management activities including:
  • Holding Scrum meetings
  • Developing and managing project artifacts
  • Implementing and maintaining project schedules
  • Developing and providing ad hoc and other status reports
  • ead IT requirements gathering and analysis of alternatives (AOA) development
  • Capture, track and work meeting decisions and action items to logical completion ​
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to drive decision making and consensus
  • Provide day-to-day project management and provide advice on all assigned projects and programs
  • Identify risks to the project and develop risk mitigation strategies and plans
  • Identify issues and corresponding escalation and resolution strategies
  • Coordinate work product reviews for completeness, quality, and adherence to customer requirements
  • Support third-party vendor management and invoice reviews
  • Assist with IT system migration planning and execution

Minimum Requirements

  • No less than seven years’ relevant experience in direct support of a Federal government department or agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, information systems or a related field
  • Experience supporting large, complex programs and supporting program management office activities
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with vendor management and invoice reconciliation
  • Experience in IT system migration efforts (planning to execution)
  • Experience leading teams and coaching junior employees
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in team settings to include close collaboration with program managers and clients
  • Understanding of Federal contracts, development of acquisition package artifacts, associated management processes, and invoicing procedures
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (processes, best practices, tools)
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in building and managing client relationships
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven, process oriented environment
  • Experience in IT system and software testing lifecycle
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and Visio
  • Public Trust Clearance Required
