Test Analyst 

Job Description:

JPI is hiring a member to join the testing team for a DHS enterprise IT system using Agile development methodologies. Candidate with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in quality assurance (QA) and/or software systems testing support to work with the Test Team to produce and execute test scripts that are consistent with an existing test plan.

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct system testing for a DHS enterprise IT system and provide: functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, Section 508 compliance testing, and usability testing
  • Provide subject matter expertise on software systems test management, resolution of technical issues relating to test execution
  • Help create and update test plan(s) to cover functional, regression, and usability testing of existing and new system applications and enhancements
  • Act as liaison between developers, customers, and other personnel regarding the project during the test period
  • Plan, execute, and track functional testing to support Agile development and continuous integration
  • Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions to ensure user stories are testable and criteria is adequately specified
  • Execute manual and automated test cases and develop test reports
  • Utilize software tools  to review, track, and execute testing procedures (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
  • Develop test data, for test execution, with pass or fail criteria based on the requirements
  • Create technical documentation including test plans, test scripts, and test reports
  • Assist in configuration management activities for project/release documentation and artifacts
  • Provide input to future system architecture with an emphasis on increased capacity and availability
  • Provide evening and weekend test support as needed

Requirements: 

  • Experience supporting and maturing testing activities and process improvements;
  • Experience with Agile development processes and tools;
  • Strong communication skills for presentations to the client;
  • Strong writing skills for developing technical documentation;
  • Ability to translate technical details for non-technical audiences;
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with clients, end users, and leadership;
  • Proven ability to work with remote teams;
  • At least 3 to 5 years' experience in IT systems testing and or quality assurance processes;
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field;
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance (US Citizen). Individual must obtain DHS HQ EOD to begin working on the project.​
